Upaya Social Ventures is delighted to announce a new member of its management team. Shruti Goel joined in late January in the newly-designed role of Director, Impact Measurement & Management.

Shruti Goel, Director of Impact Measurement and Management

Shruti brings over 15 years experience in the International Development space, working with firms such as Intellecap and the Palladium Group, designing and implementing high-impact programs across a range of sectors in the South Asia region. In her previous role she was the portfolio lead for IMPACT Programme, where she worked with IMP, GIIN, GSG among other impact measurement pioneers. She is absolutely passionate about ensuring money and ideas achieve their intended impact and more.

“Understanding the impact our programs create is some of the most important work Upaya does. We constantly evaluate in an effort to improve. Finding the right person to lead this effort was crucial, and we couldn’t be more pleased to have Shruti on board.” - Kate Cochran, CEO

“I was so impressed with Upaya on actually walking the talk on being impact-first. Over the years they have developed a rich evidence base on job creation for the vulnerable. I feel privileged to join this highly driven team and to have the opportunity to build on a strong foundation.” - Shruti Goel, Director, IMM

Upaya has prioritized impact assessment from its founding in 2011. Awarded Five Stars by “Impact Matters” (now owned by Charity Navigator), Upaya is deemed one of the most impactful impact investors in the industry. This role was created to fill the opening created when co-founder and Chief Impact Officer, Sachi Shenoy, stepped away from a staff role in September, 2021. Shenoy continues to serve on the Upaya Board.
